Jekyll 'n Hyde inside my mind, who shall I be, I cant decide......

when does a community skin become a community skin when the community is not involved? Where was the post to inivite skinners for harmoney and whitefire2?

there wasnt a post, it was created by maxstyles crew (and maybe a secret select few from the community)

and yet, suddenly its a community skin?

to me, a community skin is when someone posts they want to make a community skin, and people are allowed to volunteer their services to the skin.  The WHOLE community knows about it....(unless they live under a rock) its not a secret and suddenly released as  community skin.

yet again i ask, why is maxstyles skins being promoted as community skins when its clear that they are not.

This isnt a flame against Maxstyles.....I just am totally confused.........

here here Bonsailboyz!
those of us who are not skinners are grateful for those who are.
whether it is a collaboration of several community members or a single very talented skinner we're here for the beauty and originality of the skins available.
price or lack thereof, and involvement of community members should not be a question for anyone but the skinners involved and/or the wincustomize staff.

Thanks for your opinions, wulfn1 & Bonsaiboyz - it helps to know how non-skinners view this sort of thing.

WOM wonders why non-skinners views are any different than skinners!  A view is a view, we read the dictionary the same way as skinners.  By the way, I'am a non-skinner.

wom IS a skinner! he's been working on a skin for windowblinds since the days of wb2.2 . he may be slow in crafting the skin but i'm sure it'll be grand when it's finally done and released.

Quite ridiculous that something as insignificant as this is being argued over.

Not sure I agree that people's opinions and/or questions are insignificant. Granted, arguing may be a bit much but quite a few felt the topic was important enough to discuss. Demeaning the subject matter only tends to reflect poorly on those concerned enough to want to have a say or get some clarification.

Pictoratus: Demeaning the subject matter only tends to reflect poorly on those concerned enough to want to have a say or get some clarification.

And now we have clarification.

And to those that felt it was insignificant - oh well.

Every thread can't be a ' feel good ' thread ending in everyone holding hands and singing ' Kumbaya'

on Nov 21, 2007
But if you *want* to sing along: Kumbaya Sing Along!

You are just starting arguement about useless thing, it's not matter of life or death, it's a simple skin. Peoples with such topics makes wars and even kills commumitys. vStyler is awesome guy and amazing skinner...Enjoy hes skin. dont whine about them.

Kumbaya take out the singing and the rest laughing, crying, praying and sleeping could all apply to this thread.

Deeply held views by people from one side to the other and loads of views in between.
The debate could never have a happy out come as that would mean people changing their view of whats right and whats wrong in their view, Clarification on the subject might help this debate be put to bed, but has done nothing to change peoples views. Which can be seen by the fact that post still pop up on here and the tone of some of the posts leads you to believe there are unhappy people out there. I would hope that it just becomes a we agree to disagree and thats the end of it.
The question I would ask is does how something is refered to make a difference to the enjoyment of my life, skinning or this site and the answer to that should be NO.

Merry christmas to all

While skinners & non-skinners read the dictionary the same way, skinners can have blinders on unintentionally & non-skinners can help remove them.
