Jekyll 'n Hyde inside my mind, who shall I be, I cant decide......

so today, im watching The Divorcee with Norma Shearer.  The reason why I was drawn to this movie is because, Norma was told she wasnt right for this role..

and not only that, when she came to Hollywood, they said she wouldnt have a chance, she had a lazy eye, bad figure, and just many other things wrong with her

(bad legs apparently too) But she set to work on all of her faults and fixed them one by one, and in front of the camera learnt how to hide her bad features and show off her good ones.  She has become an inspiration to me.. so im going to study her.

People who know me, know that im MAD about the silver screen era, Andy often catches me watching "yet another black and white" during my leasure time.

Glamour, as we know it for women today is mostly gone. No one sits properly anymore, no one stands or walks properly anymore, and chiverly is pretty much dead.

(Andy was raised as a gentleman so i AM VERY LUCKY, he is one of the few who still open doors for women, very cool!!)

but im rambling. so back to my subject.

Im currently trying to change not only the way i walk, but the way i sit, dress, smoke a cigarette, look after my horrible feet. (a glamourous woman must have gorgeous feet haha) transform my voloptuous figure, and make it a religion to do my make up and hair daily.

There is no excuse why a woman cannot look beautiful every day of her life.

Ive had the thought my entire life that this is just me, and slapping on lipstick to go out was enough. But I dont think that it is. Every woman has a right to be beautiful and have a wonderful figure.

Alot of this has also been inspired by a tiny scandinavian woman called Sylvia Ullback, or Sylvia of Hollywood, as the silver screen beauties know her.

I purchased one of her books from ebay, called "no more alibies" the book is over 70 years old, and has become my bible.

So finally, yesterday for the first time in a year since I had bought sylvias book, I put her advice to the test. I made an effort, dress well for my figure, my hair and makeup is immaculate, (Andy was so proud, he stared at me so lovingly for such a long time, and ladies, when your husband gives you that look, you know yoour doing something right!!!)

When we went into town,  i recieved alot of jelous and evil looks from other women. Proof enough for me that I was on the right track!!

I was dressed very simply. A long black skirt, black turtle neck, with a black light wool wrap around cardigan and black sandles.  what was so scandelous about my look, that I recieved so many bad responses from other women?

1. I was happy.

2. I walked properly, stomache in, shoulders back, chin up straight.

3. I had beautiful make up and hair, to bring out my best features.

4. I smelt like a dream, (lavender perfume oil)

5. I believed I was beautiful.

nothing was scandelous, it was the way I carried myself, felt about myself, and took the time to look my best.

We can all achieve the same thing with a little effort each day.

And this is my goal!

I hope within a few months to post a picture of myself improved!!

love kittykuns xxxx

I'm for you 110% !! I totally agree with everything you have stated in this post. I think that we all should endeavor to be the very best that we can be, both privately and publicly. It really does define who we are as the total person. I have always said that the true test of character is what you would do if no one was around to know the difference. You have my total support x1000 !!!        -- Ace ---
