Jekyll 'n Hyde inside my mind, who shall I be, I cant decide......

Hi guys,

we have had some requests about learning how to make window blinds, some of the tuts out there are a bit dated and hard to understand,

so Im putting together a series of extremly easy to follow and understand tutorials focused on how to make a windowblind from beginning to end.

If anyone has questions, please ask! or if anyone has suggestions....do tell us, the more secrets we crank out the better.

Tomorrows tutorial will look at painting margins, startmenu font, username font, margin seperators, all programs arrow and the log off buttons.

in the last step the top bit should read *keep going until you have your startmenu finished*

sorry about that error guys.

Kitty, good for you. I hope you have the tenacity to see this all the way through. Will these address all of the elements?

Unfortunately, unless WC see fit to archive these helpful hints they will be lost amongst the "drop a word", "add a word" and "change a word" posts that frequent the forums.

this could be great community project!!!

Kitty, you are a great skinner, no offense intended here however the information should be checked for accuracy and for any additional information that is pertinent and/or helpful.

I've never had an "all programs" graphic over a 25 pixel height and didn't know that over 30 would create hic-cups. In my naive attempt to be helpful I thought this would be a good "Helpful Hints:" to add to the wiki page. But alas, when attempting to so I was informed that only "users" may alter wiki pages. AND OF COURSE, when clicking on the "users" link one comes up with yet, another empty wiki page. (typical)

I would volunteer my time to add "Helpful Hints:" to the wiki pages taken from the information presented, if I could that is. That would be limited to hints such as, remember to change the size settings to match the graphic, cannot exceed 30 pixels in height, must be a .bmp, etc.

Again thanks and if I can help...

hey gmc!

no worries mate, i probably will make some mistakes...im pretty aloof at times, so if you guys find a mistake, do let me know...and add it to the thread, it just helps everyone in the long run.

as for that 30pixel height thing for windows 7, ive deffinatley encountered issues with my allprogs arrow, unless the allprogs background is 30 (not over 30) then the allprogsbutton cuts off for me at the top so thats why i kinda said 30 for maximum, but if im wrong, i dont mind being told so! heheh  thanks for your wikked reply i luv hearing from you xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

oh and yeah i will be trying to address every single element in window blinds, it might take about 20 or so parts, but at least its covered, and its okay if it gets lost, im gonna zip the whole lot into the skin so its there forever, and always keep a copy with me too, and if anyone in the future asks, we can always point them back to this post...... or better still i can upload the zipped tutorial to my gallery? thats not a bad idea.

the more the merrier i say. every bit helps. so if you guys wanna help, thats cool with me. and thanks for everyones encouragement too, just makes it all worth while, and makes this place less of a forest for newbies hey.

@piano art: i hope so! thats what its for.
